Vice President of Operations
Michael Sermo

With over 30 years of manufacturing experience, Michael Sermo serves as Vice President of Operations at National Manufacturing Group. His background spans the automotive industry with deep expertise in plastic injection molding, profile and sheet extrusion, and compression molding. Michael brings a steady hand in operational leadership, coaching, and team-building—skills he’s developed through decades of hands-on experience and mentorship.
Michael is passionate about leading strong, diverse teams and helping people row in the same direction—always with a shared sense of purpose and a touch of fun. He thrives on improving systems, maximizing profitability, and fostering a collaborative culture.
Born and raised in Berkley, Michigan, Michael now lives in Rochester Hills with his wife Heather and their wonderfully blended family of six children. When he’s not driving operational excellence, you’ll find him strumming one of his many guitars (he admits to a little GAS—Guitar Acquisition Syndrome), playing golf, cooking for a crowd, or hanging out with Aryia, the family’s rescued Cocker Spaniel.
A Navy veteran who served during Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Michael credits his father—an engineer at GM—as his earliest inspiration to enter the manufacturing world. If he weren’t in operations, he says he’d be a full-time musician. Fortunately for National, we get the best of both worlds.
