Chief Executive Officer, National Manufacturing Group

Adam Fenton

As CEO of National Manufacturing Group, my role is to drive the strategic vision of our organization while staying true to the values that built it—Small Plant Focus, Big Company Resources. While our reach and capabilities have grown significantly, our commitment to hands-on service, customer relationships, and operational excellence has never wavered.
My journey began with a focus on expanding our presence in the marine industry, but over time, that mission grew. I immersed myself in learning the ins and outs of the composites sector and business strategy, positioning our company to take advantage of new opportunities.
One of the proudest accomplishments of my leadership has been spearheading the successful acquisition and integration of several exceptional companies into the National Manufacturing Group portfolio. Sunrise, Able Manufacturing, Northern Plastics, Great Lakes Composites, Excel, and MPI have each added unique value and capabilities to our growing family of operations.
While I still keep a close eye on sales and customer relationships, my day-to-day is now centered around scaling operations, identifying new growth opportunities, and ensuring our teams have the tools and support they need to succeed. I’m continually impressed by the grit, work ethic, and talent of our team—it’s that relentless drive that powers everything we do.
One thing that hasn’t changed: I believe in staying accessible. I may not be on the floor every day, but every customer of National Manufacturing Group has my cell phone number. That’s not just a courtesy—it’s a reflection of how seriously I take our partnerships.
Outside of work, I recharge in the outdoors. Whether it’s a backcountry hunt or deep-sea fishing trip, I’ve always believed in the value of challenge, patience, and pursuit—traits that serve me well in both business and life. My wife and I share a love for wild game and the experience that comes with the hunt.
And for those who enjoy a good backstory—I was a four-year letterman and fullback at Central Michigan University, and later served as a brakeman on the U.S. Bobsled Team. I even patched up a few sleds myself after a crash or two, which was probably my unofficial introduction to composites.
